Residents in Lincoln County, SD, have rejected a rezoning proposal for a small beef plant to be built near Worthing.
The plan would have been able to process 120 head per day from eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. The county held a referendum over the proposal after receiving a petition from residents, which ultimately resulted in 881 no votes out of 1,243 total votes.
