Legal Ledger Brief: MO beef plant meets resistance

A proposed 500,000-square-foot beef processing plant in Warren County, MO, has faced setbacks from residents who have raised concerns about negative impacts on the area.

American Foods Group was granted a conditional use permit in April to build a plant outside of Foristell, but some residents challenged the permit and seek to appeal it.

The Warren County Commission will meet May 24 for an appeal hearing, where it will decide to affirm the permit, modify it or reject it, according to local news outlet the Warren County Record. Opponents are concerned with environmental impacts and insufficient infrastructure.
