USDA’s Forest Service has announced the federal grazing fee on national forests and grasslands with remain at $1.35 per head month for 2021.
The grazing fee is calculated by considering the average annual change in beef cattle prices, leasing rates for grazing on private land in the Western states, and the costs of livestock production.
The fee will apply to about 6,000 grazing permits administered by the Forest Service in 17 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
