Legal Ledger: $11K reward for stolen TX cattle

A Lipscomb County ranch in Texas has reported 262 head of cattle missing.

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association’s Operation Cow Thief originally had a $1,000 reward posted for the missing cattle.

Rancher Bob Adcock added $10,000 of his own money, bringing the total reward to $11,000.

The reward will be paid to the individual who provides information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for the crime.

On Feb. 18, Adcock reported steers and heifers missing from the Bill Merydith Ranch in Perryton, TX.

Most of the cattle were black, but some were red and other mixed colors. The cattle weighed between 500 to 550 lbs. each and were branded with a Lazy 11 on their left shoulder.

Tips about the cattle may be reported anonymously at 888-830-2333.
