JBS USA announced last week that Tim Schellpeper has been named president of its fed beef business unit. In that role, he will oversee the company’s fed beef processing operations including facilities in Cactus, TX, Grand Island, NE, Greeley, CO, and Hyrum, UT. Schellpeper previously served as chief executive officer of Maschhoff Family Foods, the largest family-owned pig producer in North America. He has held leadership positions in prominent agricultural businesses focusing on operational excellence, logistics, sales, marketing and financial performance. He spent more than 21 years at Farmland Foods and Smithfield Foods, rising to the position of senior vice president of operations at Farmland and president and chief operating officer at Smithfield Packing Company. He started his career at IBP in 1987.
