USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) increased the annual payment to $4,000 for producers participating in the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) starting Oct. 1.
“Increasing the minimum payment to CSP participants regardless of the size of their operation helps to make participation worthwhile for California’s agricultural producers,” said NRCS California State Conservationist Carlos Suarez.
“By broadening the appeal of CSP, we can further expand implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act funding for conservation programs.”
Producers interested in this cycle of the Inflation Reduction Act should apply by March 24, 2024. More information on NRCS can be found at tinyurl.com/2p8bu6ra.
