The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) announced Dec. 27 that Kevin and Terri Carstensen have been inducted into the ICA Hall of Fame. The couple, who raised cattle in Sac County, IA, have served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the years, even earning themselves the title of “First Couple” when Kevin was president of the ICA and Terri was chair of the Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) at the same time. Throughout his tenure, Kevin has held numerous positions within ICA. His impact on the cattle industry was not limited to Iowa as he also has served on several committees for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Terri served 14 years on the board of directors for the IBIC, fulfilling the roles of treasurer, vice chair and chair during her tenure. She has also been active with the Iowa Cattlemen’s Foundation’s Youth Beef Team. The couple has also participated in trade missions to help build relationships, understanding and trust with foreign customers of U.S. beef, and expand beef’s position in the global marketplace.
