The Wyoming Game and Fish Department, in coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, captured and relocated an adult male grizzly bear on May 2 as part of conflict management efforts.

According to the state agency, although the bear was not responsible for recent cattle depredation, it was moved away from a calving pasture to reduce risk. The bear was relocated to the Ghost Creek drainage, about 60 miles northwest of Cody, with support from the Shoshone National Forest.

Grizzly relocations follow state and federal regulations, and public notification is required for each relocation.
