Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) kicked off May by signing Senate Bill 1084, which prohibits the sale of lab-grown meat in the state of Florida.
“Today, Florida is fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals,” DeSantis said. “Our administration will continue to focus on investing in our local farmers and ranchers, and we will save our beef.”
DeSantis said the state is taking action to stop the World Economic Forum from forcing the world to eat lab-grown meat and insects.
DeSantis said the state has modernized its Right to Farm Act, signed legislation to ensure that agritourism operators qualify for protection against property tax assessments when operating on ag lands, simplified the process to receive sales tax exemptions for ag materials, reestablished funding for the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program and invested in agriculture in The Framework for Freedom Budget.
