The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of the Army in late December wrapped up their public listening sessions on the revised definition of waters of the United States (WOTUS).

“What we heard countless times in these listening sessions is that a durable rule is top-of-mind for our stakeholders,” said Jess Kramer, EPA assistant administrator for water.

The agencies continued to accept written comments on the proposed rule through Jan. 5. Next, EPA and the Army will consider comments while working to develop a final rule.
