China is pushing back its investigation into beef imports until Jan. 26, 2026, according to a Foodmarket report.
The investigation was initially expected to conclude in August before being extended to Nov. 26 “due to the large workload and complex case,” China’s Ministry of Commerce said. The country launched a safeguard investigation into imported beef in December 2024 following a request from the China Animal Agriculture Association and several associations from China’s major beef-producing regions.
