China lifts final bans on Aussie beef plants

China lifted the remaining bans on two Australian beef plants, clearing the facilities for export to China. The beef plants were banned from the market as a result of strained relationships between the two partners.

“The Albanese Labor Government welcomes China lifting the remaining suspensions on two Australian meat processing establishments, paving the way for full resumption of red meat exports to China,” said Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Australia is forecast to have record red meat exports in 2024-25.
