The Bureau of Reclamation approved a new plan for California’s Central Valley Project and Delta facilities of the State Water Project in late December.
The plan will “improve regulatory certainty for water users and provide a more stable water supply for communities, farms, and fish,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Mike Brain.
The new plan will benefit winter-run Chinook salmon, revise operational criteria for Delta exports and support early implementation of the Healthy Rivers and Landscapes Program, which will provide more Delta outflow and habitat restoration in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay-Delta.
