The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is funding livestock producer organizations to help manage predator conflicts with non-lethal methods.

As Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) continues its voter-mandated wolf reintroduction, CDA awarded 12 grants from $5,000 to $35,000 to support livestock owners in wolf-prone areas. Funds will assist with education, coordination and strategies like carcass management and range riders. In 2024, CDA piloted the program with allocating $20,000 to Middle Park Stockgrowers Association, later expanding it with $28,000 from CPW.

This year, CDA increased funding to $335,000 in response to ranchers’ requests for resources to mitigate livestock losses.
