CAB has record year despite challenges

Certified Angus Beef (CAB)

Certified Angus Beef (CAB) achieved impressive momentum this year despite tighter supplies. Producers delivered 5.77 million certified carcasses, helping CAB surpass 1.23 billion pounds in global sales—one of the brand’s strongest performances ever.

More than 783,000 carcasses qualified for CAB Prime, growing 3.6% and proving the industry’s continued focus on premium quality. According to CAB, consumers showed a strong preference for the brand, with acceptance rates averaging 37.6%, and 12 weeks exceeding 40%. Foodservice partners sold over 417 million lbs.—its second-best year—while retail sales reached 525.8 million lbs., with premium ground beef and value-added offerings fueling growth. International demand remained at 179 million lbs. across 55-plus countries.
