The BLM Worland Field Office of Wyoming has requested public comment on a proposed gather of excess wild horses in the Fifteenmile Wild Horse Herd Management Area (HMA). The HMA is located in Wyoming’s Washakie, Big Horn, and Park counties. The HMA’s appropriate management level is 70-160 mature horses, but current populations are estimated at over 400 head. The office is seeking comments from stakeholders in the area who are knowledgeable about the situation. They seek comments on both the proposed gather and the updated HMA management plan that will guide efforts going forward. Comments are due by May 15. You may either email your comments to blm_wy_fifteenmile_hma@blm.gov or mail them to Wild Horse Specialist, BLM Worland Field Office, 101 South 23rd Street, Worland, WY 82401. — WLJ
