The Better Meat Co. (BMC) raised $31 million in Series A financing to expand its mycoprotein fermentation technology.
The round was co-led by Future Ventures and Resilience Reserve, with Glenn Hickman of Hickman’s Family Farms joining BMC’s board.
Founded in 2018, BMC produces Rhiza, a mycoprotein ingredient grown in fermentation tanks from starch-based foods. The company plans to scale production tenfold and sell Rhiza at prices lower than U.S. ground beef by 2026.
