Beef tallow recalled for lack of inspection

Common Sense Soap is recalling approximately 33,899 pounds of beef tallow processed, packaged and labeled on behalf of Lady May Tallow without federal inspection, USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.

The products produced between Oct. 16 and Feb. 6 lack the USDA mark of inspection; Common Sense Soap does not have a federal grant of inspection for food products. The beef tallow was distributed to wholesalers and retailers nationwide. The products may mislead consumers with a nutrition facts label, implying they are safe for human consumption.

A listing of the recalled products can be found at tinyurl.com/57m7se98.
