Almost 25,000 lbs. of raw beef were recalled from California-based American Beef Packers.
The beef was deemed unfit for human consumption by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Inspectors retained a carcass and collected a sample for further analysis, but the carcass was released before results were returned and further processed.
The products were produced and packed on Aug. 21, and 10 products are subject to recall, including boneless beef chucks, ribeyes, sirloins and tenderloins.
Products were shipped to establishments in California and Oregon, and no adverse effects incidents have been reported.
