Beef Bits Brief: “Natural” beef demand increasing

More consumers are becoming increasingly interested in “natural meat,” according to Tyson’s Consumer Monitor. The product is a priority for all age groups, but especially within millennials and Gen Z, said Kent Harrison, Tyson Fresh Meats vice president of marketing and premium programs.

“Our retail and foodservice customers have reacted to this trend, and they’ve turned to the product and brand solutions offered by Tyson Fresh Meats to meet that demand,” he said.

USDA constitutes a natural product as one that does not contain artificial ingredients or added colors and is minimally processed. Tyson’s definition of “natural” includes no antibiotics, no growth promoting hormones, and no fed animal byproducts.
