The International Beef Alliance (IBA), comprising of cattle producer organizations from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Paraguay and the U.S., issued a statement regarding international beef trade.
The removal of trade barriers such as tariffs and quotas and science-based risk management procedures help to ensure global food security.
“COVID-19 highlighted the importance of international food trade in achieving food security and economic prosperity. The past six months have proven that we are a critical part of an interconnected global food supply chain, and beef cattle producers remain staunchly committed to improving the wellbeing of people, our animals, and the environment,” a press release from the group stated.
