Beef Bits Brief: Family-owned plant coming to IA

Naeve Family Beef, a family-owned agribusiness, plans to build a beef processing plant in Camanche, IA. In addition to processing 50 head per day, the plant will also contain an on-site retail store. The plant is expected to create 45-50 new jobs.

“It has been a long-term goal of our family to be able to have our own branded beef product that we can market locally and across the Midwest,” said Vice President Ray Naeve. “With unprecedented consolidation in the beef processing industry, there are few options for producers our size. Naeve Family Beef makes that goal an achievable reality.”

The company said the new plant will include state-of-the-art sanitation, processing and waste management equipment. Custom processing and packing will be offered to ranchers all across the Midwest.
