The Certified Angus Beef (CAB) brand has reported record sales in its 15th consecutive year of growth.
Nearly 19,000 processor, foodservice and retail global partners marketed 1.25 billion pounds in fiscal year 2019, which is a 3.1 percent increase from fiscal year 2018, according to a statement released by the brand.
President John Stika said the growth was made possible by “an entire community of Angus farmers, ranchers and feeders being extremely intentional over several years in how they breed, raise and care for cattle with a focus on quality.”
Sales of premium steaks grew by 3.8 percent, end meats by 3.4 percent and ground beef by 2 million pounds.
Global sales reached a record of 207.5 million pounds and were led by Japan, Taiwan, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Branded value-added product sales set a new record, exceeding 33 million pounds.
The rate of Angus cattle eligible for CAB also rose to a record 35 percent.
