Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) announced her administration is ending state land leases that have been used by a Saudi-owned farm for years.

Hobbs said Fondomonte Arizona’s lease in Butler Valley was canceled, and the company’s three other leases up for renewal next year will not be renewed, according to an Associated Press report.

The governor’s office found the farm violated some of its lease terms, and “continued to pump unchecked amounts of groundwater out of our state while in clear default on their lease.”

The farm is a subsidiary of the Saudi dairy company Almarai Co. and grows alfalfa in Arizona for livestock in the Persian Gulf.
