Runners hit the course for the 2019 Hoofin’ it for Hunger race in Miles City.

The ninth “Hoofin’ it for Hunger Race” by the Montana Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers announced its most recent winners last week.

Marty Tatman of Washington, D.C., and Lisa Holding Eagle of Dickinson, ND won the men’s and women’s half marathon, respectively.

In the 10K run, Sam Layton of Miles City, MT and Veronica Melby of Sidney, MT took home the golds.

And the winners for the 5K were Tyler Trentacosti of Sheridan, WY and Natalie Notbohm of Miles City, MT.

The race brought in money for the Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) and food for the Custer County Food Bank.

The Oct. 12 event saw 175 runners, including virtual runners, registered for the race, according to the announcement.

In the past six years, Hoofin’ it for Hunger has raised just under $50,000 for the MFBN which equates to 153,000 meals.
