California Beef Cattle Improvement Association recognized Bruin Ranch of Auburn, CA, as the 2019 Seedstock Producer of the Year Award.
The award is provided annually to recognize producers using practical, scientifically-based application and management methods.
Bruin Ranch was established in 2001 and grew from a small set of cows to calving nearly 300 mother cows and selling Angus bulls annually.
“The mothers of the bulls must be problem-free and from a predictable and proven lineage for maternal quality,” Ranch Manager Joe Fischer told California Cattlemen’s Association.
“Simply put, bulls raised by outstanding mothers produce outstanding daughters.”
