The historic Pitchfork Ranch of Wyoming has been listed for sale by a real estate agency in Thermopolis, WY, with a listing price of $67 million.
According to Ben Anson, the listing agent and acting ranch manager, the ranch, established in 1878, has a rich history in northwest Wyoming and is renowned for its extensive land, totaling 96,115 acres. With 13,886 deeded acres, including state and Bureau of Land Management leased acreage, the ranch connects to U.S. Forest Service permits covering 44,984 acres.
Abundant springs at an elevation of over 6,400 feet and irrigation on 1,100 acres contribute to grass meadows of orchard grass, alfalfa and meadow brome mix. The ranch operates as a turnkey enterprise, featuring a Simmental-influenced cow herd and marketing beef directly to consumers. With conservation easements, the ranch sustains ranching activities while limiting development.
Featuring eight homes and various outbuildings, the Pitchfork Ranch incorporates a blend of ranching, conservation and outdoor recreation.
