The USDA is offering technical and financial assistance to help Colorado and Montana farmers and livestock producers recover from recent wildfires.

Impacted producers should contact their local USDA Service Center to report losses and explore available recovery programs for crop, land, infrastructure and livestock damages.

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is providing support through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for landowners affected by 2024 wildfires in Big Horn, Powder River and Rosebud counties.

Applications are open year-round, but those seeking wildfire recovery assistance should apply for the current funding cycle by Oct. 25.

Additional USDA disaster assistance information can be found on farmers.gov, including USDA resources specifically for producers impacted by wildfire.
