The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service withdrew its proposed rule to add new regulations addressing the National Wildlife Refuge System and update the existing biological integrity, diversity, and environmental health (BIDEH) policy.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association said the move is a win for rural America and livestock producers.

“This proposed rule represented a major shift in the agency’s handling of western rangeland and the ranchers who maintain those working lands through voluntary conservation work,” the group said in a Beef Bulletin.
