The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is proposing to list the monarch butterfly under the Endangered Species Act and is seeking public input.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) and Public Lands Council (PLC) called on the agency to partner with producers on the butterfly’s conservation.

“The USFWS management plan must recognize the voluntary conservation work that ranchers do every day to care for America’s vast natural resources providing the regulatory certainty necessary for ranchers to manage their operations,” said NCBA Director of Government Affairs and PLC Garrett Edmonds.
