The National Farmers Union (NFU) and USDA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to address staffing and improve customer service at USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) county offices.
Under the MOU, NFU and USDA will gather feedback from family farmers and ranchers through listening sessions in local communities.
This feedback will inform USDA’s efforts to enhance customer service and program delivery, the department said. With increasing demand for FSA programs, these offices are vital resources for farmers seeking farm safety net assistance, disaster recovery, conservation programs and financing for their operations, USDA said.
