USDA designated 10 contiguous Idaho counties eligible for emergency disaster assistance following severe drought conditions during the growing season.

The secretarial disaster declaration allows the Farm Service Agency to offer emergency loans to help producers replace equipment or livestock, reorganize operations and refinance certain debts. Loan approvals will be based on documented losses, available security and repayment ability.

Primary counties include Bingham and Camas counties, with eligibility extended to Bannock, Blaine, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Elmore, Gooding, Jefferson, Lincoln and Power counties. Producers have until Aug. 31 to apply.

Additional tools and guidance are available through farmers.gov and local USDA Service Centers.
