The USDA announced acceptance of 1.78 million acres into the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) through its 2025 General, Continuous, Grassland, and Conservation Reserve Enhancement enrollments.

According to USDA’s Farm Service Agency, the program remains highly competitive, with offers received on 2.6 million acres and only 1.8 million acres available. About 25.8 million acres are currently enrolled nationwide, supporting soil health, water quality and wildlife habitat. USDA said that roughly 955,000 acres expired on Sept. 30.

Kansas, South Dakota and Colorado lead the nation in accepted acreage for the 2025 enrollment cycle.
