The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Montana is accepting applications for the Upper Yellowstone Watershed Conservation Partnership project. To be considered for funding in the current cycle, producers and landowners should apply by March 1.

The project is funded through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), which promotes coordination of NRCS conservation activities with partners that offer value-added contributions to expand our collective ability to address on-farm, watershed and regional natural resource concerns.

The Gallatin Valley Land Trust is the lead partner of the Upper Yellowstone Watershed Conservation Partnership. The project area encompasses a portion of the Upper Yellowstone Watershed within southern Park County, primarily focused in the Paradise Valley with the objective to protect and enhance critical wildlife migration corridors, historic agricultural lands and water quality in the Upper Yellowstone River Watershed.

NRCS accepts conservation program applications year-round; however, applications for the next funding consideration must be submitted by March 1. Applications made after that date will be considered in the next funding cycle. Additional information about active RCPP projects in Montana is available on the NRCS Montana website, tinyurl.com/mw9r5y2v. — USDA
