TSCRA uncovers livestock thefts

Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Ranger Matt Sigur led an investigation resulting in the arrest of Mason Solis for felony livestock theft.

Solis was charged after failing to pay for cattle from Live Oak Livestock Auction in Three Rivers, TX, prompting an investigation that revealed a theft scheme across six Texas counties. In March 2024, Live Oak Livestock Auction contacted TSCRA, reporting that Solis issued a bad check for 35 cattle, which he took despite failed payment.

Further investigation uncovered Solis stole 251 cattle in total. Initially evading capture, Solis was arrested on June 22 by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and charged with nine counts of felony theft totaling over $375,000.
