The California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the confirmation of three new wolf packs: the Ishi pack in Tehama County, the Tunnison pack in Lassen County and the Ashpan pack in Shasta County.

This brings the state’s total to 10 known packs. Additionally, two small groups, each comprising two to three wolves, were identified in Modoc and Plumas counties, but do not yet qualify as packs.

The agency’s quarterly report, covering early 2025 through March, also noted a dispersing wolf in Kern County and the deaths of two Yowlumni pack members in Tulare County, which remain under investigation.

“It’s been a bumpy road lately for California wolves as some northern counties have enacted emergency resolutions based on misunderstanding and misinformation,” said Amaroq Weiss, a senior wolf advocate at the Center for Biological Diversity. “Decades of research shows that conflicts between livestock, wolves and people are rare and preventable.”

What do you expect a wolf 'advocate' to say? Ask the ranchers who have had to deal with their dead calves and cows THEIR opinion on how 'rare' conflict is?

Misunderstaning and Misinformation? I am in Montana and we have been dealing with this for years yet the advocates choose to ignore what doesn't suit their unrealistic and idiotic vision.
