Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller directed the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to assist Central Texas communities impacted by severe flooding.

With disaster declarations issued statewide, TDA activated the STAR Fund, Hay and Feed Hotline and AgriStress Helpline.

“Families are in shock, farms are flooded, fencing has been destroyed, and worst of all, lives have been lost,” Miller said.

The STAR Fund supports recovery efforts for producers in declared disaster areas. The Hay Hotline connects ranchers in need with hay donors. The AgriStress Helpline offers 24/7 mental health support from professionals familiar with rural life.

“There is still more work to be done, and together, we can continue to support our fellow Texans,” Miller said.
