Superior Livestock Auction hosted their video auction live on May 1from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, TX. Cattle producers sold 33,850 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock, totaling 209 lots from 20 states for this offering. Strong buyer participation from several bidders throughout the auction resulted in 78 different successful buyers. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through January 2025.

Regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers witnessed strong advances of $5-7 higher on all classes. Feeder heifers from the same regions were also seeing advances at $4-8 higher than the last auction. Regions 1/2 feeder steers and heifers were in short supply but also on a higher trend, providing there was good demand for all feeders. Regions 1/2 weaned calves were fully steady and met with an aggressive buyer base. Beef-dairy crosses were well received by a wide range of buyers at levels $8-12 higher than the last auction.

Regions 3/4/5/6 calves on cows and weaned calves struggled to hold a steady market. Replacement females were in good demand at levels equal to feeders. Bred fall-calving young cows were also in good demand.
