Superior Livestock Auction hosted their Feb. 16 video auction live from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, TX. Cattle producers offered over 38,500 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock from 25 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through November 2023.
Despite some uncooperative weather patterns, the market has remained very resilient and the demand for beef continues to be high, leaving Superior Livestock with a bullish market report and an optimistic spring outlook.
Regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers and heifers saw strong prices at $5-7 higher, with some moving out as much as $12 higher to a wide base of buyers. Regions 1 & 2 feeder steers and heifers were steady. Regions 1 & 2 weaned calves saw solid advances on all weights. Beef-dairy crosses also saw strong demand moving out $10-15 higher. Regions 3/4/5/6 weaned calves were also in strong demand as most of the area was met with much needed moisture.
