May 11, Hudson Oaks, TX

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their May 11 video auction live from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, TX. Cattle producers offered over 37,000 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock from 20 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through February 2024.

Regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers were fully steady on lighter weights with heavier weights $3-5 lower. Regions 3/4/5/6 feeder heifers were $2-3 lower than our last auction. Region 1 & 2 feeder steers and heifers were in short supply and showed lower prices compared to our last auction. Region 1 & 2 weaned calves were met with strong demand. Weights under 625 pounds were $5-7 higher with grazing conditions. Beef-dairy crosses were, in some cases, $15 lower on lighter weights and up to $10 higher on heavier weights depending on class and genetic diversity. Region 3/4/5/6 weaned calves remain strong on grazing condition calves under 600 lbs. With ample moisture over a wide area, ranchers were looking to add to their numbers. Prices ranged from $10-20 higher on lighter weights. Program cattle again were stronger at $15-20 higher than their counterparts.
