The Center for Biological Diversity has signaled their intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service over Montana’s wolf trapping program.

The program extended Montana’s trapping season and allowed snaring on private and public lands, and the group claims the program fails to consider threats to the endangered Canada lynx.

“Allowing even more of Montana’s wolves to be trapped and tortured puts lynx and other wildlife in the crosshairs of the state’s war on wolves. That’s simply unacceptable,” said Sophia Ressler, an attorney at the Center, in a statement.
