Tyson Foods announced it plans to give its 80,000 frontline and hourly employees year-end bonuses totaling $50 million.
Depending on workers’ seniority with the company, bonuses will range from $300-700 per employee. Donnie King, president and CEO, said the bonuses are intended to show workers how much they are appreciated and are part of their additional efforts for the coming year.
Tyson stated it spent $500 million for employee bonuses and wage increases in the past year.
The total value of wages and benefits its hourly workers receive increased to $24 an hour on average, up from an average of $22 an hour.
