A bill in Wyoming would allow county predator management boards to work through the Wyoming Department of Agriculture or directly with the animal damage management board, federal agencies or state agencies to control predatory animals and predacious birds.
Senate File 10 would allow county predator management boards to control predators from the air over federal lands if agencies like the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s Wildlife Services approve it.
Amy Hendrickson, executive director for the Wyoming Wool Growers Association, told WyoFile the bill clarifies the current statute and makes “sure that the county predator control boards are part of the chain.” Wyoming Stock Growers Association Executive Vice President Jim Magagna supported the bill and said to WyoFile that despite an agreement with county boards and Wildlife Services, the bill is “still of value.”
