Julie Anna Potts, president and CEO of the North American Meat Institute (NAMI), and a delegation visited SuKarne’s Lucero cattle feeding and beef processing facility in Durango, Mexico, on Feb. 21.
“SuKarne is proud to share with our valued partners from the Meat Institute our unique operations and commitment to social responsibility, which we believe can inspire progress across the meat sector in North America and globally,” Jesús Vizcarra Calderón, president and CEO of SuKarne said.
SuKarne has worked with NAMI since 2013 and last year joined the Protein PACT for the People, Animals & Climate of Tomorrow (PACT).
“Achievements like SuKarne’s are at the heart of the Meat Institute’s continuous improvement goals, and we applaud SuKarne for committing to the Protein PACT—our first-ever sector-wide effort to collect data and transparently report on continuous improvement across the value chain,” Potts said.
According to Meat+Poultry, SuKarne exported 110,000 tons of beef to the U.S. in 2022.
