The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is extending hours of service exemptions through Aug. 31. The administration has extended exemptions for livestock haulers since March 2020.
“This extension and amendment of the modified Emergency Declaration addresses national emergency conditions that create a need for immediate transportation of essential supplies and provides necessary relief from the (FMCSA) for motor carriers and drivers,” FMCSA said in a news release.
The exemptions extend to drivers of livestock and livestock feed, along with medical supplies and food, paper products, groceries and fuels.
