The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR) officials announced this year’s attendance was a record, along with a record Junior Sale of Champions auction benefiting Texas 4-H and FFA youth.
Total attendance reached slightly more than 1.27 million visitors, topping the previous record set in 2020 of 1.26 million. The biggest number of people through the gates was on Jan. 28, when nearly 163,000 fans passed through.
A record-breaking $7.5 million was raised for the Junior Sales of Champions, topped off by a $440,000 bid for the grand champion steer of the show named “Snoop Dog”—a European crossbred steer owned by Sadie Wampler, a 4-H member from Canyon, TX.
“Every year, we tell ourselves we can be better, and the fact is, it’s our job to make it that way,” said FWSSR President and General Manager Brad Barnes. “The enthusiasm, energy and excitement that people shared for this year’s show was reflected in the numbers and for that we say a huge ‘Thank you’ to all our guests, exhibitors, competitors, volunteers and donors that continue to make the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo legendary.”
