Story Short: Depredations continue in OR

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has reported five confirmed wolf depredation incidents during January.

The Keating Pack and the Rogue Pack were responsible for four depredations, and the wolves LAS13 and OR115 were accountable for the last.

The depredations by the Keating Pack occurred on Jan. 25, when a 500 lb. calf was killed in the Tucker Creek area, and Jan. 16., when a Kelpie herding dog was killed in the Middle Bridge Loop area.

The Rogue Pack was responsible for depredations on Jan. 16 in the Boundary Butte area, where a livestock guardian dog was killed, and on Jan. 7 in the Lodgepole Road area, where a 225 lb. calf was found.

Wolves LAS13 and OR115 were responsible for an 800 lb. 11-month-old heifer, who died in a feedlot in the Summer Lake area.
