Story Short: 80 head of cattle missing in CO

The Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) is offering a reward for information about the theft of 80 head of bred cows in Baca County.

The cattle are primarily black and predominantly have blue, Y-Tex ear tags. Cows will have one of two brands: SJM connected, or Lazy TC connected and followed by a quarter circle.

CCA did not give any details of what led them to believe the cattle were stolen or how they disappeared, but stated any leads should be reported to the Baca County Sheriff’s Office at 719-523-6677.

CCA is offering a $2,500 reward for any information leading to the conviction of the person responsible.

The Colorado Brand Board has been notified, and Brand Commissioner Chris Whitney has informed surrounding states of the missing livestock.
