New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez was joined by state and local leaders on July 13 to announce that Stampede Meat, Inc. will expand to Sunland Park, NM, creating up to 1,295 new food processing and manufacturing jobs over the next five years. The company will invest more than $36 million in infrastructure and the renovation of the former Tyson plant in Sunland Park.
Stampede Meat, based in Bridgeview, IL processes and distributes portioned, marinated, and cooked beef, chicken, and other protein products for restaurants, retail, home delivery, and other channels. “It’s an honor to welcome Stampede and their large-scale job creation to New Mexico,” said Martinez. “Since day one, we’ve been committed to making New Mexico business-friendly, and it’s paying off. We’ve cut taxes, slashed through red tape, and strengthened our key economic development tools—and now companies like Stampede, Facebook, Safelite, and many more are expanding and creating jobs in New Mexico.” — WLJ
