Kathleen Sgamma, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), withdrew her nomination ahead of her scheduled Senate confirmation hearing on April 10.
“It was an honor to be nominated by President Trump as director of the Bureau of Land Management, but unfortunately at this time I need to withdraw my nomination,” Sgamma said in a White House statement. “I will continue to support President Trump and fight for his agenda to Unleash American Energy in the private sector.”
Sgamma is president of the Western Energy Alliance, a position that environmental groups criticized for a potential BLM leader.
